We had the privilege of working on the UI/UX design for the ILoveBlackPeople Safe Places app, a platform dedicated to protecting Black people from racism and afrophobia. The app empowers users to recommend Black-friendly businesses, creating a network of trusted and safe spaces.
Our design process was centered around understanding the unique needs of the app’s users. We conducted thorough research to ensure that the interface was not only visually appealing but also easy to navigate for users of all ages and backgrounds. The goal was to create an intuitive and welcoming experience that encourages users to actively participate in building this important community resource.
We designed a seamless navigation structure that allows users to quickly find and recommend businesses. The user flow was optimized to reduce friction, making it simple for users to contribute their trusted spaces and discover new ones. We focused on clarity and ease of use, ensuring that even first-time users could effortlessly engage with the app.
The visual design of the ILoveBlackPeople Safe Places app was crafted to resonate with its mission. We employed a warm and inviting color palette, along with bold typography and clean layouts, to create a sense of safety and trust. The design elements reflect the app’s commitment to fostering a community where Black people can feel secure and valued.
We placed a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity throughout the design process. The app was designed to be fully accessible, with considerations for users with varying abilities. We ensured that the interface was inclusive, allowing everyone to participate in the movement to protect Black people from racism and afrophobia.
Building on the success of the website, we are now developing the PayNesu mobile app. Our focus is on delivering the same powerful, user-centric experience on mobile devices, with additional features tailored for on-the-go transactions.
